We welcome new volunteers to become part of Little River Enhancement Society’s stewardship of the Little River and adjacent creeks and streams.
Our volunteers participate in a wide variety of activities, focusing on two categories – fish hatchery operations and habitat restoration.
Specific activities include:
- Counting of salmon, both out-going and in-coming migrations
- Capture of brood stock
- Egg take and fertilization
- Rearing of fry and smolts
- Release of smolts
- River restoration
- Fish and stream surveys
- Stream to Sea school program
- Volunteer training on-site
- Maintenance of grounds and physical plant
